Dark ruby in color with bright aromas of ripe blackberry, raspberry, black currants, coffee and tobacco leaf. A rich mid-pallet of black cherry pie, plum, dusty cocoa and well-balanced acid that continue to the long finish. Well structured, this wine continues to impress as it opens up in the glass and will continue to improve with time in the cellar.

Ruby/purple in color, this wine screams Syrah. Blueberry, black raspberry, earth, cocoa, spice
and hints of vanilla. The Syrah brings up the front but it is the Cabernet and Merlot that
bring in the structure and acid. Creamy blackberry, red cherry, currants, sage and sweet
tannin dominate, yet the structure is kept in balance with judicious use of oak and
mouthwatering acidity.
The label for this wine was inspired by the historical El Camino Real, (Spanish for "The Royal Highway") the trail that spanned California, and the distinctive bells that later marked the route. During the 75 years in operation, 21 missions were built along the route, and wine and raisins were produced from the vineyards planted at these missions. This mission expansion established some of the first wine-grape plantings in the state, and helped pave the way for California's successful wine industry.
